China’s Perfect World to fund Universal movies in $250 million deal–Reuters, 17/2/2016 “Chinese film company Perfect World Pictures Co Ltd (002624.SZ) will invest $250 million into a slate of Universal Pictures movies, extending the tie-ups between China and Hollywood, as the world’s second largest economy sees its box office soar.”
China Chases Tough Photo Market With Getty Images Investment–Reuters , 19/2/2016 “Chinese image licensing company Visual China Group said it plans to invest up to $100 million in Getty Images as the Shenzhen-listed firm expands its footprint in the global picture library…With a market value of 16.4 billion yuan ($2.5 billion), Visual China has partnered with Getty Images for more than a decade to market and distribute Getty’s content exclusively in China.”

China’s HNA Group to buy Ingram Micro for $6 billion–Reuters, 18/2/2016 “Chinese aviation and shipping conglomerate HNA Group is buying electronics distributor Ingram Micro Inc IM.N for about $6 billion, the latest in a string of overseas deals by Chinese companies…Chinese firms spent more than $100 billion on overseas acquisitions in 2015, the most ever.”
ENERGY
Kaidi announces plans to build biorefinery in Finland–BIOMASS. 18/2/2016 “Kaidi, one of the largest bioenergy actors plans to build a EUR 1 billion ($1.11 billion) biofuel refinery in Kemi. The planned refinery will produce 200,000 tons of biofuels per year, of which 75 percent will be biodiesel and 25 percent biogasoline.”
